The Wonder of Purpose™ For Organizations
We are curious learners who examine the why behind organizational and leadership behaviors and outcomes to understand root causes. This allows us to create strategy, approaches and interventions that address issues at the source.
What is Organizational Purpose?
Organizational purpose is the sustainable reason an organization exists. Its reason for being.
How do you Define an Organization’s Purpose?
True organizational purpose is derived by assessing the codified passion and motivation, subject matter interests and traits of an organization’s founder(s) and chief stakeholders in the first generation or iteration of the business. Assessing the founder’s and chief stakeholder’s passion and motivation also defines the products or services as well as the outcome and measurable impact that passion has on a particular constituency or client base. The impact on the client base is measured in detailed client demographic studies.
Is Organizational Purpose Measurable?
Yes. We have spent the past 37 years studying, synthesizing and compiling the evidence-based research that quantifies an organization’s sustainable purpose and how and why that changes in different stages of the business’s life. We have created a comprehensive assessment that will allow you to understand your organization’s unique purpose. Our clients who work through our process and implement the corresponding systems, discover the wonder of how their purpose drives tangible results and creates organizational alignment.
Why is The Wonder of Purpose™ So Vital To An Organization?
Alignment
Clear organizational purpose creates alignment around shared vision, shared impact, shared mission, and shared goals.
Shared Vision
The impact and outcomes for the betterment of the world.
Shared Mission
What you are building, the corresponding Systems and Goals.
True organizational purpose gives cohesion to our central aspiration for impacting our world to create a better tomorrow. That aspiration meets an individual’s innate needs for autonomy and hope, empowering them to change and improve their environment.
Sustainability
Organizations with a clear purpose can define accurate measurable goals, and accurate measurable strategies to reach those goals. Goal acquisition aligned with purpose leads to organizational sustainability.
Passion → Vision → Goals → Strategy → Sustainability
Profit
Profit as a fruitful outcome of true organizational purpose, creates a generative, life-giving environment where the organization’s impact is rewarded with more growth and life-giving opportunity. Profit as a fruit of purpose meets our innate need to know that our work matters and has meaning.
Profit as an organizational purpose alone, objectifies people and creates performance driven environments, where the need for meaning is effectually lost. Profit as a primary purpose neither sustains an organization’s life, and eventually leads to no profits.
